Company Background

Control Discovery offers a wide range of electronic discovery services designed to help law firms and corporate law departments control the cost, quality, and accuracy of electronic discovery.

Control Discovery is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

Jim Barrick, President & CEO

Prior to joining Control Discovery as President & CEO in September, 2005, Jim served as the Group Product Manager, Electronic Discovery Services for CaseCentral, a national electronic discovery services and litigation management vendor. During his tenure the firm more than doubled its electronic discovery service revenues.

Under his leadership, the firm invested heavily to define and implement automated processes aimed at achieving high-integrity data extraction, data reduction, deduplication, image production, integrated quality control, and client reporting.

Jim is currently a member of the Federal Circuit Bar Association, the American Bar Association (Associate), ILTA, the Licensing Executives Society, NLGLA, and Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom.

In 1984, Jim began a ten-year career with Hewlett-Packard that included several leading industry-level quality projects within the HP Corporate Quality Department.

Jim received his formal training in quality management at Stanford University, where he earned a Masters in Engineering, as well as through case development work at Harvard Business School, where he was awarded an MBA.

In 1996, Jim founded Keynote Systems (NASD: KEYN). With more than $40M in annual revenues, Keynote is currently the leading provider of online service quality solutions for its 1500 enterprise clients worldwide.
